Fierce: For those who are not familiar with you can you please introduce yourself?
Makk: My name is MakkStarzz and I am from Southside Jamaica Queens NY and I specialize in hip hop,
Fierce: How did you get your start in music?
Makk: Well I got my start just basically being around a lot of friends and artist that rapped and plus I was always drawn to music.
Fierce: Who are some of the people that have had the biggest influence on you musically and personally and why?
Makk: Well the first 3 are Lloyd Banks, Waka Flocka, and my friend G Baby who has passed away but he was an upcoming artist himself. For one Lloyd Banks and Waka Flocka are from where I am from and I have been around them. I used to be at Lloyd Banks house every weekend. I know them personally and they both separately have been through a lot personally in the game.
Fierce: What is it about music that draws you into it?
Waka: Well whenever I listen to music I listen to it depending on my mood. It can make me relax or it can get my hype. It can make me think about certain situations if I am feeling down.
Fierce: When writing your music how do you come up with the concept for a song?
Makk: Mostly I come up with a song driving but mostly after I hear the beat I come up with the song. The beat tells me what to do.
Fierce: Do you have to write it down or can you pull a Jay Z and just remember it with no pen and pad?
Makk: I don’t know I have never pushed my mind to try to do that so I can’t say yes or no.
Fierce: Some people see music as a quick way to get a check and some people see music as “person” that saved their lives. What does music mean to you?
Makk: Music is like food, it is everything to me. Like music I want it to be a door to help me to do more. I don’t want to just come in music and do something else I want to excel with music and do music to be better in life.
Fierce: I read that you are currently working on a new mixtape, what is the name of it and what can the people expect to hear on this project?
Makk: Well with this project they can expect to hear everything. I am talking about people that I have lost and problems that I have had in my life. It is a lot of different music on there so people won’t be able to pinpoint my flow or technique.
Fierce: Where can people go to get the new project and not only that listen to any other music you have?
Makk: Well right now I am not really sure. Hopefully I should be on soundcloud.com and I will have the mixtape out and try to have them out in the stores and everywhere.
Fierce: Is there anything that you would like to say to your fans?
Makk: Well I would like to say that I no one knows who I am right now but anybody that listens to my music I say thank you.
